IPL 2023 Mini Auction is coming
The IPL 2023 Mini Auction is a chance for teams to pick up some new players ahead of the next season. The auction takes place over two days, with teams able to bid on players who are not already attached to a team.
The auction is also a chance for players to find a new team. There is a range of players available in the auction, from international stars to up-and-coming youngsters. These players will be hoping to impress at the auction and secure a new contract for the next season.
Date, Time, and Location of the IPL 2023 Mini Auction
The IPL is scheduled to be held from 25 March to 28 May 2023. The IPL will feature a total of 10 teams. The BCCI is going to organize the mini-IPL auction on December 23, 2022, at 2.30 PM (IST) and has decided to take place in Kochi, Kerala.
Kerala is all set to host a mini-auction on 23rd Dec. A total of INR 90 to 95 Crore will be distributed among the bidders in the auction. The teams have been instructed to release as many players as they can before bidding in the auction.
What Is the New Purse Value in the IPL 2023 Mini Auction?
IPL 2023 is set to be a mini auction with a new purse value of INR 95 Crore. This is up from the INR 72Crore purse values in the previous auction. The new purse value is a result of the increase in the salary cap for each team. They must spend at least 75% of the total amount of their purse during the auction. The increased purse value will allow teams to bid for more players in the auction.

Which Players Will Be Retained & Released?
For the IPL mini-auction on December 23, the 10 teams are now heading the Kochi, Kerala. Kolkata Knight Riders will enter the auction with the smallest auction budget, only 7.05 Crore (INR), while Sunrisers Hyderabad will enter with the largest auction purse of 42.25 Crores (INR).
The players who are most likely to be released are those who are older and/or have less experience. The players who are most likely to be retained are those who are younger and/or have more experience. There are also some players who are on the fence, but it is more likely that they will be released than retained.
